Since I have such a wonderful and well traveled reader base of family and friends I was wondering if anyone (and everyone!) could pass on what they know about any of these places. Things to do, things to avoid, etc.
Zürich, Switzerland
Berlin, Germany
Munich, Germany
Dublin, Ireland
One of the major cities in Scotland (we haven't decided)
My travel mate and I are beginning to plan our trip and some of the cities we don't really know one thing about. Also, if there are any cities that you are shocked and apalled that we will be missing out on let me know! Either by email or posting a note on this blog.
Thanks everyone :]

You are so much better at updating your blog and actually using it for a good purpose. I actually just deleted mine off of facebook because I suck at updating it.
I still have it...but its not longer facebook worthy.
Hope you find some good stuff for us. I mean nothing can really beat my Ben & Jerry's in Munich...but there can be close seconds.
When you say major city in Scotland, I have to think Edinburgh or Glasgow. There are other "regionally major" places (Aberdeen, Inverness, etc.) , but we spent most of our time in smaller towns.
Given the shot, I would go again up through the Western Highlands, Isle of Skye, fishing villages like Ullapool, and Inverewe Gardens (who would have thought palm trees in Scotland?). However, this trip would take quite a while (days) to get through from either Glasgow or Edinburgh (particularly without a rental car).
Never heard a lot to recommend Glasgow. We did go to Edinburgh, although that has probably changed a bit in the last 35 - 40 years...
Edinburgh is on two levels: the high street (Princes St.) and the historic old part of the city (way up on a hill overlooking Princes St.). This is where Edinburgh Castle is located and worth it just for the view. The Castle is the home of the Royal Army Piping School, so sometimes you can hear practice while walking by.
I found this site which has some good pictures of features in Edinburgh and lists a bunch of other places in Scotland as well.
